Your server IP stays private

When Minecraft downloads a resource pack, it sends an HTTP request to wherever the pack is hosted. If that URL points back to your server, every player who joins can see your server's real IP, even if you're hiding game traffic behind a proxy. Some admins try routing resource pack downloads through a proxy too, but that just adds overhead and latency to every pack transfer. When the pack is hosted on LobFile, the request goes to lobfile.com instead, with no proxy overhead and no IP exposed.
